Yeah!

It has been ages since I updated on here. I won’t go on about family drama, as this is not the place, but I have to say that I am beyond thrilled with the teachers that the Lord blessed the boys with this year. I am needing to do less homeschooling after school with Brandon and Evan’s teacher treats him like every other child, but also gives him a bit of extra help like he needs. After years of pushing for IEP for Evan in Science and Technology and in Social Studies, the school just went ahead with it this year because that is what the new principal wanted. Awesome! It makes such a difference for Evan to have in IEP in these subjects and not just in his Math and his Language. He is working so hard and getting so much support here at home that he aced his Math and Social Studies outcomes and needs new ones added in. He learned our provinces and territories, the oceans surrounding us, the country south of us, and the major lakes, so now we’re working on all of the capital cities. He is also being given grade 4 spelling (a shorter list than the others in the class) and doing amazingly at it. On top of it all, he was discharged from his occupational therapy at the end of grade 3, and we were surprised to have a discharge from his physiotherapy a few weeks ago. He also made it into the Kodaly choir, an enrichment music thing, through tryouts at his school. Yeah Evan! He is playing hockey again, this winter, but I was very sad that Brandon chose to quit. The politics of hockey finally got to him too much and took away from the fun. Shame on the coaches and the parents involved!
