To hear that the physically challenged child on the team not only got to kick the soccer ball 5 or 6 times during the game, but also got a breakaway and a great shot on net, during the first game of the season. I found out about Evan's great success when I got home from a mother-daughter tea last night. It's all the more special to me, because for a long time, we didn't know if Evan would live, if he'd ever be able to eat or be able to keep things down, if he'd ever walk, talk, and the list goes on. He's going to try to repeat that play so that I can see it next time, and when he does, I'll be the parent standing up, cheering for him, and crying happy tears.
