Long Overdue Update

This is going to be pretty brief, as I'm sick with what might be a cold or influenza…Not sure which yet, but I'm exhausted. I've been pretty busy with getting supports in for my inlaws, with volunteering with both of the boys' classes, and with the boys' activities. There has been no change in Evan's in-class support and I'm not sure that there will be for this year. His teacher was off sick last week and now I'm sick, so it's on hold. I had an OT in for a saftey evaluation at my inlaws' place this past Thursday. There were lots of great suggestions (mainly things I've suggested to them) and promises of how they'd do those things, but they're not following through with the cane, with removing slippery scatter rugs, with putting a non-slip liner under the bathroom mat, etc. They WILL be getting grab bars put in the tub on Thursday, as well as a shower nozzle extension, and possibly a bathboard, and the OT will also be doing a cognitive evaluation of my FIL. I was also able to go to the pharmacy with him to get his meds. sorted better so that he gets them all in before the end of the day. I'm really looking forward to being at his geriatrician appointment on May 7th. Brandon's allergies are already horrid. His med. regimen (5 things and the strongest available) just doesn't seem to be cutting it and we're only in April! I did an epipen test online regarding him and they make it sound like only certain things set off an anaphylactic reaction (pollen isn't one of them). I'm not so sure about that and always keep a close eye on him, as he's had areas of reaction possible (mouth, throat, skin, gut, lung), except for heart. His teacher is aware that if his lips swell, she needs to call an ampulance b/c I can't get there quick enough.
Mom and Dad are doing amazingly well. They even headed south of the border (to Pennsylvania) with my brother and SIL for Dad's birthday and Easter. I was a tad worried about another stroke for Dad, especially since the travel insurance wouldn't cover it, but they did well. He's going to see the surgeon in mid-May and he hopes he'll have surgery in June to *reconnect* so that he won't need the colonostomy any more. After all I went through with him in the fall, I'm very worried about another surgery, but working on giving that to the Lord.
I've noticed Evan doing more silent refluxing again. It's certainly better than the puking reflux he used to do, but still sad that it's happening more again. Another thing to keep monitoring…
I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of it right now.
